At the behest of Asbjorn Helgisson, the Protector of the Dwarven Boyking, Njal travelled to the Ring of Brodgar on the Orcades to find Rogr Stonehearth of the Temple of the Anointed Ancestors and invite him to the newly formed Council of Iron Shields.
Njal had received a letter from Asbjorn and had even met with him once on the Hebrides to discuss the formation of the Council of Iron Shields, which would gather the most powerful dwarves of the Kingdom of Demacia to help in ruling the nation until the Boyking came of age and could lead his own people. A meeting was expected after the death of the Dwarven King, but the formation of the Council of Iron Shields was not a foreseen course of events, but it was a happy one. Njal hoped Rogr would see it the same way, a means to unite the dwarven people under the rule of the Boyking as his most loyal and trusted servants led their own domains in his name.

As Njal lived on the Orcades and it was believed that Rogr was there as well, it fell upon Njal to recruit him into the council. Njal wasn't sure where to find Rogr, but decided to seek him out at the ancient Ring of Brodgar, one of the two ancient dwarven temples, or at least ruins of temples. The Ring of Brodgar had once been the Temple of the Sun while the nearby Standing Stones of Stenness had been the Temple of the Moon, or so Njal had been taught. These ruins now stood near each other on the Mainland as testaments to the ancient beliefs of the dwarves, the Anointed Ancestors.
Rogr had been chosen by both Asbjorn and Njal to join the Council of Iron Shields as the High Priest of the Dwarves. The council was hoping that he would take care of the sanctums and orders holdings on both the Hebrides, Orcades, and Shetlands, while Asbjorn and Njal ruled the provinces, hopefully being able to delegate their work to others. As Njal crossed the bridge on the wet afternoon, he looked up at the clear hill with the protruding rocks that made up the Ring of Brodgar. He practiced his speech to Rogr as he followed the path that ascended lazily up from the waters of the sea.
"Awright. I have bin sent by the Council o' Iron Shields tae recruit thoo into servin' the Kingdom o' Demacia." No, that was too formal.
"What does thoo make o' that?" He decided he would begin by inquiring into the Ring of Brodgar, hopefully get Rogr talking, especially about religion and science. Science was something Njal was good at.
After some small talk, he would get to the point. "We need someone like thoo. With the death o' the Dwarven King we have put together the Council o' Iron Shields tae rule til the Boyking comes o' age. We would like tae officially invite thoo tae join the council as Demacia's high priest."
All of this required Njal to first find Rogr, and he hoped he would find him here amongst the Ring of Brodgar, or at least find something that would lead him to the priest.
