"Help, I want to get in touch with the GM!"
Option 1 - Post a thread, I'll see it and probably respond
Option 2 - Send me a message, I'll see it (and probably respond)
Option 3 - Send me an email to mfoltmar@yahoo.com (shoo spambots!) and I'll probably respond if it doesn't end up in my spamfilter.
Feel free to ask any questions here and if they're asked frequently enough, I'll update the top post or something (usually with references).

Q: Why Burning Wheel?
A: There are a number of elements from Burning Wheel that I enjoy. 1) Advancement is tied directly to skill use and test difficulties, 2) Artha adds a variety of bonuses to rolls and are acquired via meaningful roleplay (and in this case, holdings), 3) The "Belief" system from Burning Wheel is a nice way to drive stories, 4) The concept that every roll should drive the story forward, and that a failed rolled doesn't mean "nothing happens" (except when it does, such as on the domain level), 5) The character generation system, while unfair, creates interesting characters (up to a certain point, but I haven't reached that point yet).
A lot of those elements are technically feasible under other systems, but I don't have those systems, and adapting all of the concepts above into D&D is not necessarily feasible (especially the Advancement element is difficult).
If we do change systems in the future (somebody suggested "Reign", which seemed tailored to this kind of play), then most likely the current story/game would be wrapped up, and a new story started.
