So I've seen a few mentions of Non-Regent characters. As the setup for this game is different than the original Birthright (all of the players in one party), I was wondering what role non-regents or non-blooded characters could play or what kind of impact they could have if a player wants to play one. Or how you see them functioning in this forum game at all.
I guess in the end, a character could still be in control of a few guilds and all, or maybe I'm missing something.

The idea behind Non-Regent PC characters (as main characters) is to allow for players who might be more interested in just the roleplaying (and Burning Wheel) aspect without getting too involved in the Birthright aspect. It might be the equivalent of someone playing Lancelot vs playing Arthur. Those players can easily get involved in adventures and potentially can obtain the blooded trait at a later time if they decided they wanted to get involved on the domain level - most likely obtainable via an adventure.
Note that regents (and to a lesser extent, non-regents via resources or by other means like a knight having a squire) can also hire help and have NPC characters that can also join in adventures.
Also, while I am generally encouraging players to band together in larger groups, it won't necessarily be one very large group (as I am currently expecting 7-12+ players), but having players group together in groups of 3-5 is definitely preferable to having groups of 1.

Sounds good, banding together with others, even if just having a common start is good for all of us new folk. Thanks!
